An Unexpected Journey

Hello and welcome to my inaugural blog post!

So, I'm currently in my third year of studying to be a teacher and I have just started a class relating to using ICT in the classroom. This is something that really frightened me as I am the type of person which repels technology and struggles to use it in everyday life (I'm lucky to have Facebook for goodness sake!) let alone use it in a classroom setting.

However, I was doing some reading for the topic and I came across and interesting point...whether we like it or not, we have a digital presence. We can either use it positively or negatively.

Now I'm not sure about everyone else, but I am quite reluctant to post things about me online, as I fear having an online presence will be detrimental to me when it comes time for me to find a job. I always felt that having a 'digital footprint' was dangerous. But what if the opposite is true?

Yea, I know right!
What if it is better to embrace our digital presence than to shy away from it?

There's some food for thought.

So where does that leave me? Well, I have decided to quit being a hobbit of technology and embark on an unexpected journey of the online world.

So this is me, writing a blog (soon I will be getting Twitter....what has the world come to?!?!?!) about my journey through my education. Hopefully it will be insightful, but mainly I hope it will be interesting. I for one am looking forward to the outcome.

ONWARDS TO MORDOR!
